NICOLE arranges biannual workshops for its members, addressing matters related to contaminated land. Each workshop is orchestrated by a committee of members, forming the Organising Committee, and guided by the Network secretariat. Over the past decade, NICOLE has successfully organized more than 20 workshops, consistently seeking captivating topics and speakers. The workshop programs have defined objectives, aiming to achieve specific outcomes, and consistently provide fresh insights to NICOLE members. It is not uncommon for workshops to lead to the creation of position papers or the establishment of Thematic Working Groups.

In alignment with the effort to contribute to a more sustainable environment, NICOLE introduced its Sustainability Protocol to minimize the environmental impact of its events.
